We recruit, train, and employ direct support staff to provide services and assistance to individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Our staff are CPR & First Aid certified, have received training on Abuse and Neglect, Positive Behavioral Supports, Non-Violent Crises Intervention, Missouri Quality Outcomes, Medication Administration, and any other trainings deemed necessary.
Choices of St. Joseph, Inc. is hiring individuals to work in our homes to provide care for individuals with mental and physical disabilities.
We have various shifts available:
Weekend shifts- part time
Overnight shifts-Must remain AWAKE during these shifts
PRN Shifts- in various homes filling open shifts on an “as needed basis”
Responsibilities include: maintaining a safe and clean environment for individuals being cared for, interacting with the consumers and helping them interact in the community, providing transportation to scheduled appointments or home visits, preparing meals, administering medications, light cleaning and laundry, direct and assist clients in daily chores; model “how to” do duties when necessary, initiate and maintain positive and healthy relationships with clients and staff, model appropriate communication skills, complete required documentation during each shift, prepare progress notes and document in communication log daily, ensure all paperwork is completed prior to end of shift, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor or agency.
All of the individuals we support require a different level of care. Some individuals may need minimal assistance in areas such as cooking, cleaning, and caring for their personal hygiene. Other individuals may require full support including assistance in the restroom, showering, transferring to and from their wheel chair, etc.
All applicants/employees must have: reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. high school diploma or GED a willingness to serve as a team player by performing job duties as assigned
